Today is International Yarn Bombing Day, a day to spread a little cheer on lamposts, fences or other unattractive public spaces around the world.
Some people have quite a negative reaction to yarn bombs, thinking them pointless or untidy but I say what’s not to like?

Things I don’t like seeing in the street: cigarette ends, dog poo, sweetie wrappers, drink cans, vomit, children
Things I do like seeing in the street: yarn bombing, smiling.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!
Yarn-bombing. I like it. I had never heard of it until I read this. Does it have to be yarn? Or can it be material, ribbons, etc. ? If so I’m off to tie pink bows on the wild boar tails pinned up on the hunters den in our village. http://inagainoutagain.wordpress.com/2011/10/30/the-wild-boar-hunting-society/
You definitely should! And while it’s not technically yarn bombing, when I did the horse statue last year with a friend she did a felt bomb as she didn’t knit or crochet.
You know what – *I* am pointless and untidy and I hope one or two people still love me!
Have you ever, nudge nudge wink wink, thought of yarn bombing a marquee type structure? Yarn bunting maybe
I have been completely oblivious to it but now you mention it it’s a great idea. Hard to do it discreetly though. Without some help at least…
